DESTINATION ZIMBABWE?
Destination Zimbabwe is currently in production and will be performed as part of The Melbourne Fringe Festival, October 1 -4 2008 at St Martins Youth Centre.
Destination Zimbabwe comes as a follow on to the well received Discrit Zimbabwe. Two Zimbabwean students find themselves in between two countries on a bridging visa. Zimbabwe is their likely destination after years of study in Australia. When the ashes have settled from the economic fire fueled by 12.5million percent inflation, social fire fanned by HIV/AIDS and 90% unemployment, where will they be?

"Discrit" is a compound acronym meaning "dispassionately critical", implying that, like Virgil's straddling of political allegiance, Tengende aims to offer an objective commentary on the competing claims of rival groups”MB

Australian Stage Online review By Jack Teiwes
“It is always compelling when two characters each passionately insist that the other is lying, and you as the audience have to attempt to make up your own mind on the matter.”

"Everyone in the country is a victim," Tengende says. "The only winners are those who are pulling the strings. The chaos allows their agenda to go unchecked." Simon Tengende
