SkinnyTwin theatre provides a platform for presenting Simon’s dispassionately critical plays commenting on the tragic modern day Zimbabwe and some of the difficulties faced by Zimbabweans who have run away from Mugabe’s dictatorship. SkinnyTwin does not have a traditional ensemble but works with artists who have a conscience and have an interest in the factual representation of the millions in Zimbabwe who do not have a voice. Because Language plays such an important role in the identity of Zimbabweans, Shona is integral to the plays hence Zimbabweans in Melbourne are encouraged to audition and take part in our plays.
